White Mountain 5 oz. Silver Coins Available

The newest release in the America the Beautiful 5 oz. silver coin series is the White Mountain National Forest specimen coin.  These coins are the special numismatic version of the 5 oz. silver bullion coins from the United States Mint.  These are legal tender coins with a nominal face value of 25-cents.  Five designs are minted each year, as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. 

Both the ordinary bullion version and the numismatic specimen version are minted in five troy ounces of .999 fine silver.  The numismatic specimen version is easily distinguished from the ordinary bullion version by finish and mint mark.  Only the numismatic specimen version carries the "P" (Philadelphia) mint mark on the obverse (heads) side.  The numismatic coins present a beautiful uniform satin finish as a result of a special 'vapor-blast' process at the mint. 

Both ordinary bullion and numismatic versions of the 5 oz. silver America the Beautiful coins have a place with investors.  The numismatic version benefits from the additional demand of coin collectors worldwide.  Prices for ordinary bullion coins track closely with the spot market for silver.  The numismatic version has, over the past three plus years maintained value and increased in value based on global demand from collectors as well as investors.  We believe that the numismatic version is the better choice for almost everyone apart from institutional investors.
